New head of Zug Tourist Board appointed

The Zug Tourist Board has announced it has appointed Patrizia Hofstetter as managing director with effect from Friday 1 March.

In assuming her new responsibilities, Hofstetter will be taking over from Nicolas Ludlin, who decided he would leave after only a few months in the job.

Hofstetter is a graduate of the University of Applied Sciences in Chur in the canton of Graubünden and already has much experience in destination management organisation, and in a leading role, too. In fact, she is already an employee at the tourist board, where, along with the front office team, she helped set up more efficient booking software last year.

2018 was in fact quite a challenging one for the organisation, with various measures having to be implemented, including having to reduce staffing costs for the year 2019.

As Heini Schmid, the chairman of the board, said, “At present we are able to fulfil the performance agreements we have with our various partners and are working very closely together with them. What is clear, however, is that we will be having to tighten our belts when it comes to marketing the city internationally.”
