Zug police pulled six people out of traffic

The Zug Police stopped several unfit drivers last weekend. Two of them were driving under the influence of alcohol and four under the influence of drugs.

The Zug police were called out on several occasions last weekend, according to the latest media release. They stopped two drunk drivers in the municipalities of Steinhausen and Hünenberg shortly before 1.30 a.m. on Saturday night, and at 11 p.m. on Saturday evening. The breath alcohol measurements taken from the 53-year-old man and the 31-year-old woman showed values of 1.16 per mille and 0.86 per mille, respectively.

A 44-year-old motorist was also stopped in the municipality of Hünenberg at noon on Sunday, and the rapid drug test that he then took reacted positively. The public prosecutor on duty then ordered a blood and urine test in the hospital.

Crashed into crash barrier and then drove on
A little later, at 2.15 p.m., a road user reported to the Zug police that a vehicle was driving very unsafely near Cholrain. And, despite crashing into the crash barrier, was still driving on. The police finally stopped and checked the 39-year-old woman driver near Zug railway station, the statement continued. The rapid drug test carried out on her reacted positively, whereupon the woman had to give a blood and urine sample in the hospital on the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office.

The same applied to a 25-year-old man who disregarded a driving ban in the city of Zug on Sunday afternoon and was subsequently stopped. He, too, reacted positively to the rapid drug test. In addition, the man was found to be driving without a valid driver's licence.

Positive rapid drug test
Finally, on Sunday evening, shortly after 11 p.m., the police checked a 22-year-old driver in Cham. After a positive rapid drug test, he also had to give a blood and urine sample at the hospital.

That was the end of their journey for all these drivers, and their driver's licences, if they had them, were confiscated on the spot.
