Zug Police kept busy on the long weekend
Over the long weekend, the Zug Police stopped a number of people who were breaking various traffic rules. These persons will now have to answer to the Public Prosecutor's Office.
During a mobile speed check on Friday evening on the Chamerstrasse in Zug, the police stopped two drivers who were clearly disregarding the indicated speed limit of 50 km/h. The two drivers were travelling at a net speeds of 66 km/h and 68 km/h respectively.
On Saturday afternoon, a police patrol stopped a car on the Industriestrasse in the city of Zug. The 34-year-old driver did not have a clear view of the right-hand side mirror, because he was carrying a large cardboard box on the passenger seat.

Also on Saturday evening, a police patrol on the Edlibacherstrasse in Neuheim checked a car with a trailer that had suffered a burst tyre while driving. Investigations at the scene revealed that the trailer load of the vehicle combination exceeded the limit by several hundred kilograms, and the load on the trailer was also inadequately secured.
On Sunday afternoon, a motorist drove into a wooden fence in a car park near the Zollweid in the municipality of Hünenberg. A breathalyser test carried out on the 53-year-old driver showed a value of 2.04 per mil, which corresponds to 1.02 mg/l. He was also not in possession of a valid driving licence.
Also on Sunday, a police patrol on the A4 motorway heading towards Lucerne noticed a vehicle driver acting suspiciously. During the subsequent check, the officers discovered that the 40-year-old driver did not have a valid driving licence. That was the end of the journey for him.
A 17-year-old motorcyclist was stopped in Unterägeri on Sunday afternoon. On inspection, the police officers found that both tyres on the motorcycle were worn out. There was a similar result with a car driver in the city of Zug on Sunday afternoon. Both front tyres on the vehicle were also worn out, and no longer met the legal requirements.
