Zug Lake Police will take over responsibility for the entire Lake Zug

From 1 January 2023, the Lake Police from Zug will be responsible for the entire Lake Zug, including the part that lies in the canton of Schwyz.

The cantons of Zug and Schwyz previously each operated their own lake police on Lake Zug. As of January, however, the Zug police will take over the lake police tasks of the cantonal police force of canton Schwyz, according to a statement from the Zug Police.

The Zug lake police will therefore also be responsible for the part of Lake Zug that lies in the canton of Schwyz in the future. They will ensure security and order throughout Lake Zug, provide assistance in the event of accidents and ensure that the protection of the shore zones is observed.

The Volunteer Fire Brigade of the City of Zug (FFZ) is already responsible for the lake rescue service for the municipality of Arth and the district of Küssnacht.
