Young Entrepreneurs Prize awarded to 19-year-old for website helping newly qualified drivers

The Young Entrepreneurs Prize, which is mainly sponsored by the Zug Technology Forum, has been awarded to Nicolas Heini for his website Firstcar.ch, which gives all sorts of advice to newly qualified drivers.

The presentation took place in the municipal rooms at the Dreiklang centre, where each of the contestants had eight minutes only to present their ideas to the public, who themselves determined who the winner was.

Heini, at 19, was actually the youngest entrant. He presented his Firstcar.ch website, which gives useful tips to newly qualified drivers, for example about insurance and what cars are suitable for those who have just passed their test. Warning them, too, about the pitfalls of leasing a car.

The prize comes with CHF 5000, the cheque duly handed over by Steinhausen councillor Carina Brüngger (photograph). This will come in very useful as Heini now plans to extend his range to cover the whole of German-speaking Switzerland, pointing out misconceptions youngsters may have when it comes to acquiring their own car.

The second prize was awarded to the cabritsch outdoor fashion AG company of Baar, through which Swiss-made hard shell jackets and trousers are offered under the Cabrix label, the customers themselves able to choose the style and colour.

The third prize was awarded to the Albosan AG company of Cham for arm splints it made for people who have suffered a stroke.

Among a panel of experts asking pertinent questions about the future plans of the entrants were councillor Brüngger herself, Rhea Seleger from the ArtGrid company of Baar, along with representatives of the Wasserwerke Zug utility company and the Zuger Kantonalbank.

As mentioned, the main sponsor of the event was the Zug Technology Forum, whose managing director, Albina Begic, was also present; she mentioned how exciting it was as the entrants presented their projects.
