Young driver collides with a taxi
Shortly before 1:30 am on early Sunday morning, a 21-year-old was driving on the Gubelstrasse in Zug, in the direction towards Cham. At the intersection of the Gubelstrasse with the Baarerstrasse, he failed to give way to a correctly driving taxi travelling towards Zug on the Baarerstrasse, resulting in a collision.
The impact caused the 21-year-old's car to spin around and come to rest on the pavement, approximately 30 metres from the intersection. Fortunately, all those involved in the accident escaped injury, according to a report on Monday from the Zug law enforcement authorities (Zuger Strafverfolgungsbehörden).

A breathalyser test administered to the driver registered a blood alcohol content of 1.34 per mil (0.67 mg/l). Blood and urine samples were thereby ordered, and his driver's licence was confiscated and forwarded to the administrative authority (Road Traffic Office). The two cars involved in the accident were impounded, and had to be towed away by a private towing company.
Specialists from the Zug traffic police and a drone pilot from the Zug Police were called in to document the scene and secure evidence. The exact circumstances of the accident are currently under investigation.
