Woman hit by car on pedestrian crossing, and a driver crashes into a wall

The emergency services were kept at the start of the week. A pedestrian was hit by a car in the municipality of Unterägeri, while a driver left the road and crashed into a wall in Walchwil.
 

At approximately 7:45 am on Tuesday morning, a 54-year-old woman was hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing in the municipality of Unterägeri. The accident occurred on the Zugerstrasse in Neuägeri.

According to the police report, she thereby sustained serious injuries, and was taken to the hospital after receiving initial medical treatment from the Zug Ambulance Service. The exact circumstances of the accident are still unclear and are the subject of further investigation. Traffic past the accident site had to be reduced to one lane while the patient was recovered and the accident investigation was carried out.

Just a few hours earlier, shortly before 11:15 pm on Monday night, a driver on the Artherstrasse in Walchwil lost control of his vehicle and crashed head-on into a retaining wall. The car came to a stop in the road, heavily damaged.

The 63-year-old driver escaped unharmed, according to the report on Wednesday from the Zug Police. The vehicle was a total write-off.

The two accidents will now be investigated further by the Zug Prosecution Services (Staatsanwaltschaft).
