"Where are mobile speed-monitoring cameras to be positioned?" asks SVP parliamentary party

Now that the canton no longer makes use of static speed-monitoring cameras, the parliamentary SVP party has tabled a question to the cantonal government wanting to know where the mobile ones are to be used.

Furthermore, the party wanted to know according to what strategy the cameras were to be used, adding that the government should inform the public where they were to be positioned.

Reading between the lines, it appears the SVP party feels these mobile speed cameras are not to be used where they might lead to increased safety, for example at places where pedestrian and traffic volume is high, such as outside schools and in areas of multiple types of traffic, “but instead set up in a concealed way in places where there is little safety risk, for the purpose of getting as much income from fines as possible”.
