Well-known chef for the Röthelberg restaurant
The city of Zug is leasing the Röthelberg restaurant to the “Genuss Galerie Röthelberg”, according to a recent press release. The new concept combines regional cuisine with national culinary skills.
After the departure of the previous tenants at the end of August, the Röthelberg restaurant, located at Blasenbergstrasse 15 above the city of Zug, has remained empty.
But the successor has now been announced - and it is a well-known name in Zug. The Zug-based hotelier and restaurateur Tino Lehner will bring the necessary professional expertise and extensive experience, while a culinary team will work under the direction of the new host and head chef Dennis Siesser, who has gained experience in Michelin-starred restaurants. He most recently led the kitchen team at the Hotel Kempinski Palace in Engelberg, and was at the ‘Genuss Film Festival’ in Zug last autumn.
Zug city councillor (Stadtrat) Urs Raschle signed the contract with the new tenants.

The Genuss Film Festival organisers, including, in particular, Matthias Luchsinger, are behind the “Genuss Galerie Röthelberg”, and he is quoted in the press release as follows: “The concept is for the restaurant to start with evening menus of three to five courses from Wednesday to Saturday and a lunch menu on Sunday. The restaurant will also be open for lunch on the above-mentioned weekdays.”
Four times a year, there will also be a new, specially created menu from a renowned guest chef. Matthias Luchsinger and his team have a particular focus on promoting young talent, and apprentices from the region will thereby also be regularly given the opportunity to run the restaurant independently for a day.
The restaurant is scheduled to reopen at the end of April 2025.
