Wanted for award: people with civic courage

The Zug Cantonal Security Directorate is looking for candidates for the 2026 "Zug Prize for Civic Courage." (Zuger Preis für Zivilcourage).
 

This prize recognises individuals who have taken responsibility and helped others in difficult situations - for example, by administering first aid, alerting the police or intervening decisively.
The prize, now in its 15th year, is endowed with CHF 1,000, as announced by the Security Directorate (Sicherheitsdirektion).

People who don't look away in dangerous situations, but instead take responsibility and help others, demonstrate civic courage.

Residents of the canton of Zug can be nominated, as well as persons from outside the canton who have demonstrated civic courage within the canton.

Nominations can be submitted to the Security Directorate (info.sd@zg.ch) up to the 19th June.

The award ceremony will take place in Cham on 26th August.
