Violent crash on the Knonauerstrasse

The accident occurred on Thursday morning, 5 December, just after 10.15 a.m. A 25-year-old delivery driver was driving from Knonau on the Knonauerstrasse and wanted to turn left in the Bibersee area, according to the police report. He thereby drifted too far onto the opposite lane, which led to a heavy collision with an oncoming truck. Fortunately, nobody was seriously injured. The delivery truck driver was taken to the hospital for checks, and the material damage to the two vehicles is around CHF 50,000.

The delivery truck driver certainly has a guardian angel.

The Knonauerstrasse had to be completely closed during the accident recording, the recovery of the vehicles and the cleaning work. During this time, several drivers bypassed the signals, ignoring the police driving ban, and drove up to the accident site. "Not only did they endanger themselves, but also the people involved in the accident and the emergency services," writes the Zug police. This behaviour also makes the work of rescue workers more difficult. Police barriers and instructions are always to be followed.
