Update on the Corona virus from the Zug Department of Health

Update of March 12th, 2020

How must I have to behave in general?
The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH/BAG Bundesamt für Gresundheit) has provided extensive information on the rules of conduct on its "New Coronavirus" website, and updates it regularly http://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/de/home/krankheiten/ausbrueche-epidemien-pandemien/aktuelle-ausbrueche-epidemien/novel-cov.html.

What if someone in my immediate vicinity becomes ill?
If you have had close contact with a person with a confirmed infection with the new coronavirus (closer than 2 metres for more than 15 minutes), you must stay at home, avoid contact with other people as far as possible, and immediately contact a doctor or a hospital by phone.

What should I do if I show symptoms? How can I get tested?
If you have symptoms such as fever and cough, you need to stay at home so that you do not infect anyone. If the symptoms are mild, you can take care of yourself, and a test for infection is not necessary.

If you are at higher risk of becoming seriously ill or if the symptoms worsen: Call your doctor. He/she will then decide whether a medical clarification has to be carried out, or whether it is sufficient if you stay at home and take care of yourself.
