Two single-vehicle accidents on slippery roads

A motorcyclist and a cyclist came to grief in separate incidents on the slippery roads on Wednesday morning. Both had to be hospitalised.

Two accidents occurred on the General-Guisan-Strasse in the city of Zug on Wednesday, 11 December according to media release of the Zug police, the first involved a 19-year-old motorcyclist, and, a little later, a 57-year-old cyclist. The bicyclist was seriously injured, while the motorcyclist escaped with only lightly injuries. Both were taken to the hospital by the Zug rescue service. the General-Guisan-Strasse was very slippery in some places at the time of the two accidents.

The report from the police states that roads can be slippery or even icy during the winter period. One of the most important measures is therefore to adapt the driving style to the changed conditions, to be proactive and to be particularly careful. In addition, it is necessary to keep more distance, gently accelerate and decelerate and reduce the maximum speed.
