Two persons injured after head-on collision

A car and a van collided head-on on the Langgasse in Baar on Friday. The 60-year-old female driver and the 31-year-old driver of the van were injured.

A woman was driving from the Lättich roundabout towards Baar shortly before 2 p.m. on Friday, July 10th. At the level of the Baar brewery, she somehow drove onto the oncoming lane for reasons not yet known, which led to a head-on collision with a van, according to the Zug law enforcement authorities. As a result of the impact, the vehicle that caused the accident was thrown back onto the original roadway and subsequently collided with another car. The exact cause of the accident is still unclear, and is being investigated.

The 60-year-old woman who caused the accident and the 31-year-old van driver were both injured, and were taken to hospital by the Zug ambulance service. The 47-year-old driver of the third vehicle involved in the accident was uninjured. The public prosecutor's office of the canton of Zug ordered a blood and urine sample in the hospital from the woman driver.

Three vehicles were involved in the accident on Langgasse.
Traffic was reduced to a single lane past the accident site.

The damage to property was considerable, according to police, with the accident vehicle and the van being total write-offs. The damage to the third vehicle amounts to around CHF 5,000.

In order to recover the patients and the vehicles, as well as to record the details of the accident, traffic had to be guided past the accident site in a single lane

Employees of the Zug ambulance service, a private towing company and the Zug police were on duty.
