Two drivers escape injury in two-vehicle collision by zebra crossing

Two drivers were lucky to escape injury in an accident involving two vehicles on Chamerstrasse in the municipality on Wednesday evening.

The incident happened shortly before 7 pm as a 42-year-old driver slowed down to allow a pedestrian to use a zebra crossing. Unfortunately, the 33-year-old driver of the ensuing car failed to notice the car in front had stopped and drove into the back of it.

While, as mentioned, neither driver was injured, much damage was caused to both vehicles, leaked oil having to be removed by members of Risch Fire Brigade.

Not surprisingly, much congestion built up, with only one side of the road passable for some time afterwards.
