Two cyclists injured in two separate incidents

Two cyclists were seriously injured in two separate incidents within one hour of each other on Saturday afternoon.

The first accident occurred shortly before 12.30 pm as a 36-year-old man on mountain bike fell and sustained serious injuries as he was on a trail on the Zugerberg.

The second accident occurred in Hünenberg (photograph) as an 85-year-old cyclist on an e-bike prepared to cross Holzhäusernstrasse but failed to notice an approaching van, the 66-year-old driver of which did his best to avoid him but to no avail, this cyclist, too, sustaining serious injuries.

Locals did their best to help until the emergency services arrived on the scene, in directing traffic, too.
