Two cars caught fire in the same night – both were a total loss
Two cars caught fire in the town of Zug on Monday night. Investigations into the causes of the fires are ongoing.
An emergency call reached the Zug Police Control Centre shortly before midnight om Monday: a parked car was on fire on the Bundesplatz in the city of Zug. The Volunteer Fire Brigade of the City of Zug (FFZ - Freiwillige Feuerwehr Zug) was called out immediately.
Although they arrived on the scene quickly and immediately fought the fire, the vehicle was completely burnt out, as the Zug police reported in a statement. The flames also damaged another car, a tree and a power cable at a construction site. No persons were injured during the incident.

Two and a half hours later: the Police Control Centre received another report of a car on fire, this time on the Gotthardstrasse.
The fire was quickly extinguished by a police patrol that was in the immediate vicinity, and finally by the Volunteer Fire Brigade of the City of Zug. The car was a total loss, however, but and no-one was injured.
It is not yet known why the two parked cars caught fire on early Tuesday morning. The cause of the fire is now being investigated by the forensic service of the Zug police.
The Zug Police had set up an exclusion zone the next morning.
