Trans-cantonal bus routes inaugurated

The Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe AG (ZVB – Zug Public Transport), together with its partners Auto AG Schwyz and Odermatt Transline AG is operating two new trans-cantonal bus lines: the  525 (Rotkreuz – Immensee) and the 526 (Rotkreuz – Arth-Goldau – Brunnen). The new connections were inaugurated with a small ceremony.

The valley area of Schwyz (Talkessel)  and the district of Küssnacht are moving closer to the business location Rotkreuz. According to the press release of Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe AG (ZVB), the newly created bus lines 525 and 526 will open up the two regions across the cantonal borders. Line 525 runs every hour directly from Rotkreuz to Immensee via the motorway. Line 526 runs from Monday to Friday during the rush hour period between Rotkreuz and Brunnen via Arth-Goldau.

The new public transport offer was put out to tender under the auspices of the Canton of Schwyz. Under the management of Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe AG as a concessionaire, the two lines will be operated together with Auto AG Schwyz and Odermatt Transline AG and will now be introduced with the timetable change on 13th December.

Official inauguration
The cross-cantonal connections were inaugurated in a small ceremony  in the presence of Schwyz Government Councillor (Regierungsrat) André Rüegsegger, representatives of the cantons of Schwyz and Zug, representatives of municipalities and districts, as well as the transport companies.

André Rüegsegger, who is also the head of the building department of the canton of Schwyz, referred in his speech to the new bus concept in the Schwyz valley area, which includes in particular the new connections between Arth-Goldau and Immensee to various locations in Rotkreuz. "We are of course pleased with the expansion of the public transport offer in the canton of Schwyz working together with the canton of Zug, and we hope that customers will use the new offer in a lively manner." André Rüegsegger emphasized in particular the added value for employees who work in the Rotkreuz area.

Cyrill Weber, head of the ZVB, mentioned in his speech that the new lines not only connect cantons and business locations, but also transport companies. "We have been able to operate the new offer together with Auto AG Schwyz and Odermatt Transline AG, thereby putting our cooperation on a new footing. We are moving closer together, and this creates good solutions for our customers and customers."
