Train cancellations between Rotkreuz and Zug

SBB Rail services on the Lucerne - Zug line were disrupted between Rotkreuz and Zug on Saturday evening. According to SBB, this was due to an external event. No further details have been revealed, but there was a considerable police presence near Cham railway station.

The restrictions lasted until after 9 pm on Saturday night.
There were delays and train cancellations, with no trains in the Lucerne direction stopping at any of the stations between Zug and Rotkreuz. Some regional trains added a provisional stop at Rotkreuz station to enable passengers to reach Cham by bus.

Trains, including the S1, continued to run to Cham from the Lucerne direction

Many travellers (including the author) found themselves stranded at Rotkreuz station waiting for replacement buses.
