Too fast, too loud, too many risks
The beautiful weather at the beginning of the weekend attracted many people onto the roads of Zug.
This resulted in speeding, risky driving and unnecessary noise. Numerous road users will now have to answer to the Public Prosecutor's Office.
Many people were exceeding the speed limit
The Zug Police charged several people to the police at the weekend, they announced in a police report on Monday. For example, a 34-year-old man who was driving at 44 kilometres an hour in a 30 km/h zone in Baar on Friday afternoon. The man did not have a valid driver's license and was also driving under the influence of drugs. He had to give a blood and urine sample at the hospital.
Two drivers were also speeding on the Steinhauserstrasse in the city of Zug on Friday evening. A 24-year-old driver exceeded the speed limit of 50 km/h by 16 kilometres an hour, and a 66-year-old driver exceeded the speed limit by 22 kilometres an hour.
The police stopped two cars on the cantonal road between Steinhausen and Knonau on Saturday afternoon. A 38-year-old driver was exceeding the 80 km/h speed limit by 24 kilometres an hour, and a 27-year-old by 35 kilometres an hour.
A 34-year-old driver was also speeding on the Sihlbruggstrasse in the municipality of Baar on Saturday evening. He exceeded the 80 km/h speed limit by a net 24 kilometres an hour.
All the offending drivers must now answer to the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Zug. They will also be reported to the road traffic authorities, according to the police.

Three motorists will also be reported for causing unnecessary noise with their vehicles. The three men, aged 18, 30 and 44, were unnecessarily revving the engines of their cars on the Baarerstrasse and the Gubelstrasse in the city of Zug, making banging noises and accelerating unnecessarily.
Motorcyclists riding without helmets
The traffic police also stopped two motorcyclists who were riding without helmets on the Lorzendamm in Baar on Saturday evening. The two men each received a fine.
The driving behaviour of a 45-year-old woman also resulted in a charge. On Saturday evening, she drove into the oncoming lane on the Gotthardstrasse in the city centre of Zug, thereby endangering herself and other road users.
The Zug Police point out that excessive speed endangers safety, and that excessive noise impairs the quality of life of the population. The Zug Police will continue to carry out targeted checks in the coming weeks.
