Thieves and sprayers arrested

Thanks to reports from citizens, the Zug police were able to arrest six people on Monday evening/Tuesday early morning. These persons had carried out graffiti spraying and robbed a cash register.

On the night leading to Tuesday (29 June 2020), shortly after 01:00, an attentive citizen reported that people were spraying on properties in Zug, in the area of the Bahnhofplatz and the Bundesplatz. Based on the detailed information provided by the report, the Zug police were able to stop and arrest three young adults a short time later. Those arrested were a Swiss man, a British man and a woman from Kazakhstan, aged between 19 and 20. The majority of the young adults have confessed and were released from custody after questioning. They must answer to the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Zug for damage to property.

Shortly after 03:00, another report from a local resident was received at the Zug police headquarters, according to which a person in Baar had stolen money from the cash register at a field that was selling flowers. A patrol of the Zug Police was deployed, and was able to stop and arrest three Romanians, two men and a woman, between the ages of 26 and 32. The Romanians had used a metal rod and double adhesive tape to fish coins and notes from the self-service cash register. The discarded crime tool was found at the scene by service dog Elik. The stolen cash was returned to the legal owner. The high court judge of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Zug sentenced the three people to a fine of 30 daily rates each and a fixed charge. The judgments are final. They were also served with an deportation card by the Office for Migration, and have had to leave Switzerland.
