The Village Market and Coffee Truck season opens

The Risch fire brigade kicked off the Rotkreuz village market season with a large number of visitors and pleasantly sunny, surprisingly mild temperatures on Saturday, 28thMarch.
 

Th clubs and associations in Rotkreuz take turns running the village market (Dorfmarkt) from March to November, and look forward to welcoming guests of all ages every Saturday. Cakes, coffee, sausages, or risotto – the culinary offerings are diverse. The organiser, the Rotkreuz Events Association (RiAn), finds no problem in persuading the clubs to participate in the village market. The market itself takes place every two weeks and is a charming and lively event. Located in the heart of Rotkreuz, the market offers an inviting atmosphere that attracts both locals and visitors.

At the market, you'll find a diverse selection of fresh, regional products. In addition to culinary delights, there are also handcrafted items from local artisans. Because the market requires a considerable time commitment, however, some local businesses are hesitant to participate - they seem to fail to recognise that the village market is more about advertising than actual sales. The market could also do with more visitors to the coffee truck, so that this attraction remains worthwhile for the operators.

The village market in Risch, with its approximately eleven vendors (who rotate between markets), is a meeting place for the community. People come together there to exchange news, enjoy a coffee, and soak up the convivial atmosphere. Saturday mornings are dominated by the coffee truck, which is run by a local association. The aroma of coffee and fresh cake wafts across the village square.

As is customary in election years, the local political parties will present themselves to the public in September.

The season will conclude in December with the various Christmas markets (Weihnachtsmärkten), which are organised and held in different locations throughout the village.
