The ten largest employers in the canton

Latest statistics based on information gathered at the end of June showed that the Roche Diagnostics company of Rotkreuz was the canton’s largest employer with 2,724 employees, of whom (126) were trainees.

The second largest employer was Siemens Schweiz - Siemens Smart Infrastructure - of Zug, with 2,157 employees (128).

In third place was Metall Zug with a staff of 1493 (77) followed by the Zug Cantonal Hospital in Baar with 991 (122).

Johnson & Johnson was the fifth largest employer with 920 employees and 15 trainees, followed by the Glencore commodity-trading and mining company of Baar with its staff of 855 (12).

In seventh place came the Zuwebe organisation which supports handicapped people in many ways with its staff of 537 and 25 trainees, followed by the Amag motor trading company of Cham with 517 (13).

In ninth place came the Triaplus organisation, which provides integrated psychiatric care in Zug as well as in the cantons of Schwyz and Uri. 478 people work here at its Oberwil site along with 32 trainees.

In tenth place was the GGZ charitable organisation of Cham with its staff of 451 (26).
