The Queen of Thailand visits the OYM
The OYM in Cham welcomed Her Majesty Queen Suthida of Thailand on an official visit last Thursday.
The Queen, who is herself an active ice hockey player and sports enthusiast, showed great interest in OYM's training and development concepts. Thanks to her in-depth understanding of competitive sport, there was an intensive and informative exchange with the managers of the centre, according to a statement on Friday.
“The visit of the queen was greatly appreciated by all involved, and underlined the importance of international exchange in top-level sport," the statement concluded.

Ski acrobat Noé Roth, two-time silver medallist at the Winter Olympic Games in Northern Italy, was also honoured at the OYM competitive sports centre in Cham on Friday. The Baar native trains there up to five times a week in the summer, as he said on the podium.
After the hustle and bustle of the Winter Olympics in Livigno, the 25-year-old has spent the last few days relaxing and processing everything.
The OYM "sports mecca", created by Hans-Peter Strebel, combines training, sports science, regeneration and education under one roof and enjoys international recognition. The EVZ ice hockey teams make use of the OYM facilities.
