The EVZ women are back in action

After a 2-week break in which international matches were played, the EVZ ice hockey women will be back in action in a home match against SC Bern in the OYM Hall in Zug.

The EVZ ice hockey women are in good form, winning their last 3 matches, and scoring 7 goals in each of the last two. The two teams just behind them in the table – HC Davos Ladies (HCDL) and HC Ambri Piotta (HCAP) both play away, so this is a great opportunity for the EVZ to increase their lead.

The EVZ women currently lead the league table, with 42 points from 15 games. Their opponents on Saturday will be SC Bern, who are in 4th place on the league, with 23 points, but have played 2 games less than the EVZ.

The Zug women are currently in a class of their own, and have won fourteen of their fifteen games in the PostFinance Women's League, dropping only three points. Their goal difference of 86:19 also speaks volumes, with goalie Chiara Pfosi celebrating four shutouts and Yara Keller two. In addition, Zug's first line of forwards, consisting of Rahel Enzler, Lara Stalder and Alina Marti, occupy three of the top four places in the scoring list. ‘Our line works great – and we constantly discuss what we can improve,’ says Rahel Enzler. The 25-year-old from Unterägeri cites reflection and humility as reasons for the team's impressive run and adds: ‘We work hard and stay focused in training. The team spirit is great and there is a high level of mutual trust; at the moment, hardly anything can deter us.’

Noemi Neubauerová scored the EVZ Women’s 600th championship goal in the 5-2 victory in Davos at the end of September. This encounter was symbolic of the team's positive development in the process set out by head coach Daniela Diaz and the staff. The team is characterised by patience and belief in its own abilities. The fans appreciate this too. They are flocking to the OYM Hall in even greater numbers than last season: after eight home games, the average attendance is 973 spectators – that's over 100 more per match than in autumn 2024.
