The Ägeribad receives an architecture prize

The "Ägeribad" spa project in Oberägeri has been awarded the "Iconic Award: Innovative Architecture". Through its volume and use of materials, the building takes the surroundings and the direct lake location into account.

The Ägeribad allows you to enjoy swimming and relaxation while offering breath-taking views of Lake Aegeri. The location directly on the lake made a responsible handling of the volume and the use of materials essential, writes Scheitlin Syfrig Architekten, Lucerne, who designed the pool complex. The total volume was therefore quite deliberately divided up in order to avoid the building appearing too bulky and to harmoniously embed it into its surroundings.

The glazing of the swimming pool on three sides offers visitors a fantastic view while swimming, while providing passers-by with an insight into the swimming events, continues the communication. In the choice of colours and materials, attention was paid to the surroundings. The facades of the new indoor swimming pool thereby consist of a wrap-around umbrella of vertical wooden slats, which are inspired by the traditional wooden construction in the agricultural zone vis-a-vis on Lake Aegeri. Each volume has its own colour tone, derived from the surroundings.

The "Iconic Award: Innovative Architecture" awards visionary buildings, innovative products and sustainable communication from all sectors of architecture, the construction and real estate industry, as well as from the manufacturing industry. The focus is on the holistic staging and the interplay of the works in the context of the architecture.
