Test bus from the east in Zug
"We are constantly expanding our expertise and know-how in the area of electromobility," says Cyrill Weber, the Business Manager of the Zugerland Public Transport Company (Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe, ZVB). The ZVB first presented an electric bus in September 2019. The Mercedes Citaro bus is in regular service in the meantime.
The ZVB want to operate a compete line with electric buses only from the end of 2021. Due to long delivery times, a call for tenders is expected soon. That's why the ZVB is testing electric buses from other providers. A Solaris electric bus from the St. Gallen public transport company (Verkehrsbetriebe der Stadt St. Gallen) was sighted in Zug last Wednesday. The slightly smaller bus was being tested in Zug for two days, according to ZVB circles. Meanwhile, the Zug bus has been lent to St. Gallen. ZVB company director Cyrill Weber adds: "The exchange with other transport companies is very valuable, as we can learn from each other."
