Ten people evacuated after basement fire
On Monday morning, just before 10.30 a.m. on February 24th, a fire broke out in a basement section of an apartment building in Riedpark in the city of Zug. The fire was already extinguished before the first emergency services arrived on site, however. The fire caused a lot of smoke in the basement and in the stairwll.

Around ten residents of the affected property were evacuated as a precaution, and nobody was injured. The volunteer fire brigade of the city of Zug, which was operating with around 20 firefighters, cleared the smoke from the building, after which it was again available to the residents. The cause of the fire is the subject of further investigations by the forensic service of the Zug police. The property damage cannot be quantified yet.
In addition to the volunteer fire brigade Zug (FFZ), employees of the Zug emergency service, the Zug police and the fire brigade inspector were deployed.
