Take That to perform two or three songs on 5th September

The Allmend in Lucerne will be transformed into a concert arena on the 5th September 2026, with 40,000 visitors expected to attend the Energy Air event. But there will have to be some restrictions around this major event.
 

What is Energy Air?
Energy Air is a large open-air concert organised by the Energy radio station. The 2026 edition will take place at the Allmend in Lucerne, with around 40,000 visitors expected., 20,000 visitors attended the event at the Stockhorn Arena in Thun last year.

When does Energy Air take place in Lucerne?
On Saturday, 5th September. The event grounds open at 2:30 pm, and the concerts run from 6:30 pm to 10:15 pm. The after-show party starts at 10:30 pm, and will be held in Hall 4 of the Lucerne Exhibition Centre.

Which stars will be performing?
Take That
are among the acts taking the stage. With hits like "Back for Good," "Shine," and "Rule the World," the 90s boy band is one of the most successful British pop bands of the past decades. Also announced are Nico Santos, Bligg, Ofenbach, Glasperlenspiel, Gavin James, Loi, Mimiks, Tiffany Aris, and Jule X. The concerts will take place rain or shine. With the event being held outdoors.

What can the audience expect from the individual performances?
Ten acts will perform at Energy Air in one evening. Accordingly, the individual sets will be short: many artists will only play two or three songs, as a spokesperson for the organisers confirmed upon request. Energy is emphasising this very concept, advertising that it will present more than ten top acts in one evening, instead of fewer headliners.

How can you get tickets?
Tickets for Energy Air cannot be purchased. While admission is free, the tickets must be won, according to Energy. Tickets will be given away via radio, the app, the website, and other promotions.

Is there an age limit?
Yes. In order to be able to attend Energy Air, anyone under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The age limit for the after-show party is 18.

What does the event mean for local residents?
The impact will not be limited to the day of the concert. Setup begins on the 27th August, and dismantling continues until the 9th September. During this time, there may be increased traffic, material transport and occasional noise around the Allmend. The city of Lucerne informed residents about these restrictions in mid-August.

What are the rules regarding the Allmend on the 5th September?
Due to the high number of visitors, the City of Lucerne has announced that the public transport network will be heavily congested, especially in the afternoon and late evening, and large crowds are expected. The Horwerstrasse will be closed from noon until midnight from the Moosmattstrasse/Horwerstrasse roundabout to the Schützenhaus restaurant,. The road in the area of ​​the Frohburgstrasse, the Inseliquai, and the Werftestrasse, from the Uni parking lot exit to Werftestrasse 12, will be closed from 2 pm to 7 pm, and from 9:30 pm to midnight.

How should visitors get there?
The city and the organisers recommend using public transport. In addition to regular services, extra trains will run to and from Bern, Zurich, and Basel. Shuttle buses will also be available from Lucerne train station to transport visitors to the Allmend. The city points out that most visitors are expected to walk from Lucerne train station to the Allmend. The recommended and signposted footpath leads from Inseliquai via the Werkhofstrasse and the Fruttstrasse to the Freigleis railway line and then via the Moosmattstrasse to the Allmend Luzern. Large crowds are expected along this route on the day of the event. More than 20 food stalls and several bars will be available to visitors on the grounds.
