Sunday ride ends with arrest

A car on the A4 motorway from Küssnacht am Rigi (SZ) towards Rotkreuz was being driven in a conspicuous way. During the subsequent check, the police found that the driver had violated several laws. The inmates of the car were arrested.

On Sunday evening, 13 September, shortly before 9.45 p.m., the Operations Centre of the Zug police received a report from the cantonal police in Schwyz that a passenger car was travelling in a conspicuous and dangerous manner on the A4 motorway, from Küssnacht am Rigi towards Rotkreuz. A short time later, the Zug police were able to spot the vehicle, which was weaving from side to side on the road. According to the press release of the Zug Law Enforcement Authorities in Baar, the motorist was stopped on the Sihlbruggerstrasse after initially disregarding the police stop sign. The 51-year-old driver and his 45-year-old female passenger did not follow police instructions, and behaved very aggressively. As a result, the two were handcuffed and arrested.

Drunk and without a driver's licence
The driver of the vehicle was driving without a valid driver's license and under the influence of alcohol, with a level of 0.43 mg/l. His car was confiscated by the police, and a blood and urine sample was ordered by the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Zug. Both people were remanded in custody by the police.

The two occupants of the car come from Germany, and will have to appear before the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Zug to answer for several offences.
