Success for the Musikgesellschaft Cham

At last year's general meeting, the Musikgesellschaft Cham voted on whether to participate in the top division at the Swiss National Music Festival in Biel in 2026. The association seeks challenges and development and doesn't shy away from competition.
 

The Eidgenössische Musikfest (Swiss Federal Music Festiival), the world's largest brass band festival, demands a lot of rehearsal, discipline, good camaraderie, and perseverance. On 16th May, the more than 50 musicians from the Musikgesellschaft Cham (Cham Music Society) performed the challenging compulsory piece "Metamorphosis" and their own choice, "Harlequin," with concentration and utmost dedication, before a jury and a large audience.

The jury congratulated the music society for their committed and expressive performances and awarded two scores of 85 out of a possible 100. Atmosphere, tone quality, dynamics, balance, technique, articulation, and interpretation were all convincing.

The band also stood out at the marching band parade: The Eidgenössische Musikfest was a first-class experience for the association, and ushered in the third century of the Musikgesellschaft Cham with dignity and power. An act of camaraderie and a sign of their joy of music. We hope that brass band music will continue to be cherished and appreciated by young and old alike.
