The Zug-based darts pro Stefan Bellmont was eliminated in the second round of his second World Championship appearance. He lost 2-3 to Australian Damon Heta in London on Sunday evening.

37-year-old Stefan Bellmont from Cham lost his match against Australian Damon Heta (The Heat) by 2-3 at the Darts World Championship at the Alexandra Palace in London on Sunday evening.

He had achieved a remarkable feat in the first round of the World Championship on Wednesday evening, defeating Dutch darts legend Raymond van Barneveld 3-0.

Reaching the second round of the World Championship has earned Stefan Bellmont £25,000. And last but not least, the Swiss player has also climbed the darts world rankings: Before the London tournament, he was ranked 111th in the world, and now he's 90th.

This was Bellmont's second World Championship appearance, following his first in 2024. The Zug native will be traveling even more abroad next year. The 2026 European Tour comprises 15 tournaments in ten countries. But the player from Cham will have to qualify for these tournaments, where the winner will now receive £35,000 instead of £30,000.
