Single-vehicle crash after avoidance manoeuvre
After allegedly having to swerve to avoid an oncoming vehicle in Neuheim, a delivery van driver came off the road and crashed into a streetlamp.
The accident occurred at 5:30 pm on Monday evening, according to the Zug Police. A 23-year-old delivery driver was travelling from Baar along the Hinterburgstrasse in Neuheim. According to his account, an unknown vehicle came partly into his lane. While swerving to avoid the vehicle, the 23-year-old driver lost control of his van, and collided with a lamp post on the right-hand side. The vehicle then continued for several metres, damaging a traffic sign and a fence, before the battered vehicle finally came to a halt with its front in a nearby garden.

Fortunately, no one was injured, but the van was a write-off. A private towing company had to be called in to recover and remove the vehicle. Damage to surrounding street infrastructure an the fence amounts to several thousand Swiss francs.
In order to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident, the Zug Police are now seeking witnesses who may have seen the incident or the second car.
