Second booster vaccination now also available in Zug

From Tuesday, 21 June, registration for the second Covid booster vaccination will be possible at the Zug Vaccination Centre in Baar. The vaccination costs CHF 60, and this amount must be paid directly on-site.

Fully immunised individuals (with 3 vaccinations, or 2 vaccinations and one infection) are still very well protected against severe Covid-19 diseases. For travel to certain countries, however, a vaccination within the last four months may be required.

According to the Health Directorate, the Canton of Zug is thereby creating the opportunity to receive this second booster vaccination at the Zug Vaccination Centre in Baar. All travellers are thereby advised to inform themselves as early as possible about the current entry rules in their destination countries.

Vaccination after registration and subject to a fee
The second booster vaccination is only given after registration. As before, registration is possible online (www.corona-impfung-zug.ch) or by phone (041 531 48 00). The vaccination costs CHF 60, and this amount must be paid on-site (preferably by EC or credit card or Twint, with cash payment also possible).

According to the press release, vaccinations for basic immunisation (first and second vaccination), the first booster vaccination and additional vaccinations for immune-suppressed persons in accordance with the professional recommendations of the EKIF and the FOPH (BAG) remain free of charge.

No vaccination recommendation for the general population
The Federal Commission for Vaccination (EKIF) does not currently recommend the second booster vaccination. The vaccination also takes place outside the authorisation of Swissmedic, and is therefore an "off-label use". All persons willing to be vaccinated are made aware of these points before vaccination, and must sign a declaration of consent on site.
