Safe stolen from single-family house

An unknown perpetrator has stolen a safe from a single-family house in Walchwil. The burglars thereby hit lucky. The police are looking for witnesses.

Late on Sunday afternoon (19 December 2021), between 16:15 and 18:15, a single-family house in Walchwil was broken into. An unknown perpetrator smashed a window pane to gain access to the house, and stole a safe with cash and valuables to the amount of more than CHF 200,000. As the stolen safe weighed around 200 kilograms, the police investigators assume it must have taken several persons to load the safe into a vehicle. The police are thereby asking the population for help.

Call for witnesses
Any persons who observed anything suspicious in and around Walchwil on Sunday in the period from 4:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., and who can provide information about the perpetrators are asked to contact the Operations Control Centre (T 041 728 41 41). Indications of suspicious persons, vehicles and license plates are off particular interest.
