Road accident due to alcohol

A car crashed into a road lamp and ended up on its roof. The driver had to be taken to the hospital for a check-up, and the vehicle was a total write-off.

The accident occurred on Tuesday evening shortly before 7.30 p.m. on the Gulmstrasse in the Oberägeri. A 72-year-old female driver who was driving uphill crashed into a road lamp on the right-hand side of the road.

As a result of this impact, the vehicle tipped over and came to rest on its roof. The driver, who was under the influence of alcohol, was treated by the Zug rescue service and taken to the hospital for observation. The vehicle was a compete write-off. The public prosecutor of the canton of Zug ordered a blood test to be carried out on the driver at the hospital. Her driver's license was confiscated on the spot.

Members of the Oberägeri fire department, employees of the Zug rescue service, a private towing company, the Waterworks Zug AG (WWZ) and the Zug police were called to the scene.
