Restaurant Degen to be run by restaurant chain

The Degen restaurant in Hünenberg is expected to celebrate its reopening in June 2026.

According to the restaurant's website, the Degen restaurant will be run by Hello Grand Café AG from June 2026. The restaurant company already has several locations in the canton: with a ‘Hello World’ in Baar and Rotkreuz, in the Villa Villette in Cham, and with the ‘Ciao da Qui’, the Xaloc Tapas Bar, and the Seeliken lakeside lido (Badi Seeliken) in Zug.

The long-time tenants and owners Emil and Monika Girstmair sold Restaurant Degen to Monika and Max Bütler last autumn (we reported at the time) after running the restaurant for 17 years. The new owners have been busy renovating the restaurant since December 2025.
