Renovation work planned for Bahnhofstrasse 22 in Zug
Major renovation work is planned for Bahnhofstrasse 22 in the city of Zug, home to the newer Ciao da Qui restaurant and the Aeschbach Chocolatier branch.
According to the building owner, Baloise Leben AG, the existing tenants have been fully involved in the process, and were informed about the planned renovation at an early stage., For data protection reasons, however, no comment can be made regarding the individual tenancies.
According to the owner, residential use is excluded in the development plan, which is why no apartments can be built. The dimensions of the building envelope will also remain largely unchanged, as shown in the visualisation by Axess Architekten AG.

As stated in the building application, the reason for the renovation is the outdated building technology. The approximately 50-year-old property no longer meets today's standards. The plan is to carry out an energy-efficient renovation with new technology, better insulation and a photovoltaic system on the building. The stairwell is also to be renovated for safety, fire protection and earthquake safety reasons.
The building application is open to public inspection until the 8th February. As explained above, however, the impact of the renovation on the ground floor premises remains unclear.
