Reduced operation at the Theater Casino

From December up to and including February 2021, operations at the Theater Casino Zug  will continue to operate in a limited way. This will include the closure of part of the building. The cultural and gastro business will continue as far as possible within the framework of the Covid 19 measures.

The Covid-19 restrictions imposed by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) have hit the cultural and gastro companies hard. This has been true for the whole of the current year, but applies in particular to the situation with the tightened measures from 29th October onwards. The decline in visitor numbers has had a significant impact on the turnover and the capacity utilisation of the staff at Theater Casino Zug, according to a press release from the Board of Trustees (Stiftungsrat). Only modest activities are currently possible, with a great amount of effort and a low yield. In its basic scenario, BAK Economics assumes that restrictions can to be expected to continue, and will have a strong impact on cultural and catering establishments in the coming months.

Against the background of this initial situation, Theater Casino Zug has decided to reduce its operations for the time being, for a limited period from the beginning of December to the end of February 2021, with the following measures:

In order to relieve the burden on the catering and banqueting business, the rent for the restaurant tenant is to be waived for the year 2020. In addition, it’s possible that the restaurant could adapt its opening hours to the exceptional situation during the partial closure, as well as the culinary offer, in consultation with the foundation. Nevertheless, a cultural enterprise that the needs of the urban population into account should remain possible within the framework of the Covid 19 measures.
