Rear-end collision ends in crash barrier

There was a rear-end collision on the A4 motorway, involving two vehicles in the evening traffic. One of them became wedged in the crash barrier after the impact. No one was injured.

The accident happened on Thursday evening (9 July 2020), shortly after 16:30, on the stretch of the A4 motorway between Rotkreuz and Küssnacht am Rigi, in the direction of the Gotthard. A 26-year-old van driver noticed too late that the vehicles in front of him were braking and crashed into the rear of the car in front of him. As a result, his vehicle was pushed to the right into the crash barrier, where the van came to a halt wedged in place.

No one was injured, and the damage to the vehicles and the crash barrier system amounted to around CHF 10,000s.

The above-mentioned section of the motorway is outside of canton Zug, but is patrolled by the Zug police.
