Re-opening of the Alpenstrasse and the Gotthardstrasse

The Alpenstrasse and the Gotthardstrasse neighbourhood in Zug has been given a complete makeover, and now features lots of greenery and trees, wide pavements and lively outdoor dining.
 

Prior to this, underground pipes for rainwater, sewage and the Circulago district heating system were laid over a period of more than three years. To mark the successful completion of the work, the Department of Construction hosted a drinks reception for the neighbourhood last Friday, according to a statement from the city of Zug.

Until the end of September 2025, there will be a poster exhibition along the Alpenstrasse showing the transformation of the city quarter, from its construction at the beginning of the last century to the present day.
