Prosecutor's office sentences station rowdies

Four men assaulted a man in and near Zug railway station in the summer of 2020. One of the perpetrators has now been punished with a conditional fine.

He couldn’t escape them. Shortly after 10.30 p.m. on 14 August 2020, the Friday evening before the start of school, a man rushed out of Zug railway station. We still don’t know where he came from, how old he was, or whether he knew the three men who had knocked him down seconds earlier in the station concourse.

The attackers hit him on his hips, upper body, head using their fists and feet. The man tried to protect himself with his hands and forearms, but without success. Were they paying off a grudge? In any case, the thugs lost no time, and attacked the man as soon as they spotted  him in the station hall, knocking him to the ground several times before he was able to tear himself away and attempt an escape that only led him to the other side of the station.

Burst lip, loose tooth, concussion
His pursuers caught up with him there, just past the "Brezelkönig" stand, in the so-called Park-and-Ride zone,. A fourth attacker joined in, and also hit out at the victim, who suffered a loose tooth, a burst lip, but above all a concussion from the attack.

This is indicated by a penalty order issued by the Zug public prosecutor's office on 3 December 2021, which was open for public inspection a few days ago. Because of multiple attacks, the prosecutors sentenced one of the four assailants to 100 daily rates of a conditional fine of CHF 30 each. Although the authorities pronounced the penalty against the 19-year-old conditionally,  his outbreak of violence still cost him almost CHF 5,900, thanks to the fine of CHF 750 francs and having to pay the costs of the procedure,.

In addition to the 19-year-old Swiss man, the public prosecutor's office carried out separate proceedings against the three other assailants. Two of them were completed in the penalty order procedure, as the authorities inform on request. A third will soon be charged. So there will be another hearing in court.
