Population complying with the federal guidelines

The Zug police had to deploy several times last weekend in connection with reports regarding the tightened COVID-19 restrictions imposed by the Federal Council. In the majority of cases, it was found that the local population and shops were following the rules.

Over the weekend of Saturday, March 21st and Sunday, March 22nd, various reports were received by the Zug police headquarters that people in groups, or even some shops, were not complying with the new rules of the Federal Council, according to a report by the Zug law enforcement authorities on Monday, March 23. Patrols from the Zug police followed up all the reports, and, in almost all cases were able to determine that the tightened measures that came into force on Friday evening, March 20, were being observed.

Fortunately, the local population is largely adhering to the rules in an exemplary manner. The number of people in public spaces in the past two days has been very low. The people who were on the move maintained their social distance very well, the report goes on to say. The patrols only occasionally encountered groups that were not following the guidelines. They were warned and told to go home. Most of the groups were reasonable, and followed the instructions. A few, however, considered their own interests (going out, meeting colleagues, etc.) to be more important than the recommendations of the Federal Council. They thereby received official warnings, and three unreasonable persons were also fined.

The majority of the groups that were checked were young people and young adults.

The shops and local companies also complied with the requirements of the Federal Council. Only in a few cases did the emergency services have to draw attention to the applicable regulation. Those responsible reacted immediately, however, and implemented the orders. No-one has been charged to date.

The Zug police would like to thank the local population for their solidarity in the sense of the good compliance with the regulations, and asks them to continue to do so.
