Pop-up sauna now also coming to Lake Lucerne

Following its introduction at the Seeweg bathing area in Cham last year, the Zug pop-up sauna will soon also be available in Oberwil and Stansstad.

Taking a sauna in the middle of nature while enjoying the view of the lake and mountains: The Zug pop-up sauna makes this possible. The trio behind the sauna concept opened their first location in Cham in October last year. For the coming sauna season, they are now adding two more locations, in Oberwil and Stansstad.

The reason for this is the high demand and the positive feedback from the previous sauna season at the Seeweg bathing area (Strandbad) in Cham, according to a recent press release. ‘Our guests actively asked us whether we could also implement the concept in their communities,’ says managing director Ville Heimgartner. The concept has even attracted interest from Belgium and England, where similar projects are to be realised. The saunas in the bathing areas in Cham and now in Stansstad are due to open on 23rd September. A further location in the Tellenörtli in Oberwil on Lake Zug will follow in October.

The temporary, mobile wooden saunas allow an interim use of the bathing areas during the autumn and winter months. This idea is therefore well received by the municipalities.

There are two saunas per location with space for up to six people, and the saunas can be booked online. Thanks to the digital booking process and automated sauna control, there is no need for on-site staff.

The aim is to bring a piece of Nordic sauna culture to Lake Zug and Lake Lucerne.
