Police officer violently attacked

On the night of March 3rd, at 2.15 a.m., the Police Command Centre in Zug received a report that a young woman was causing trouble in a youth home in the municipality of Oberägeri, and had threatened a supervisor with a legally-banned knife, according to a police statement Wednesday afternoon.

When they arrived on site, the emergency services met a 17-year-old in the stairwell who was armed with a extending truncheon. “One of the police officers repeatedly asked the teenager to put the forbidden weapon to one side and not to resist. As she opposed the police instructions, however, she had to be arrested by the emergency services,” the statement said. The teenage girl hit a police officer on the head with a truncheon and injured him.

The police officer was taken to the hospital for check-up, where he is still being cared for. The adolescent was arrested and appeared before the Zug Youth Attorney's Office (Jugendanwaltschaft). The latter opened criminal proceedings and ordered she be placed in custody.

The accused is charged with violence and threats against authorities and officials, assault, and multiple violations of the weapons law.
