Police increase their presence on the Seepromenade

As the warmer months of the year begin, the police will be out and about on the Seepromenade (lakeside promenade) in Zug more frequently, starting on 11th April.

This is thanks to the apparently positive experiences of previous years, according to the city of Zug. Last year, the police increased their presence on 51 evenings and nights from 19th April to 19th October, thereby creating ‘safer conditions’.

The number of offences, including damage to property and theft, has decreased, as have reports of disturbances of the peace. No cases of assault or sexual harassment were recorded.

Waste management has also been improved. ‘The optimised placement of additional waste bins and the targeted use of a private cleaning company have largely prevented littering,’ the city announced.

Last May, the Grand Municipal Council (GGR: Grosser Gemeinderat) approved the city council's (Stadtrat) proposal for the involvement of security assistants from the Zug Police and private security services as an annually recurring payment credit for the years 2025 to 2028. This means that CHF 250,000 is now available per year, instead of CHF 220,000.
