Police catch six young men in flagranti thanks to information from the public

Police arrested six young men after a break-in at a schoolhouse in Rotkreuz on Friday night. The stolen property was secured.

Police had been informed of the burglary by an observant woman shortly before 9 pm. Shortly after arriving at the schoolhouse on the Waldeggstrasse in Rotkreuz, the police patrols that had been immediately deployed saw a man leaving the schoolhouse, the Zug police reported on Saturday.

The man fan away, but was stopped by police after a few metres. Five other burglars were also arrested following the subsequent investigation. The six young men were four Swiss, one Dominican and one Sri Lankan, between the ages of 18 and 23, and were carrying suspected stolen property: Bluetooth speakers, CD players, a music box and food. A small amount of marijuana and a prohibited knife were also seized.

According to the police report, the majority of the men have confessed to the break-in. They will now appear before the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Zug. The young men have been released from custody in the meantime.
