Police call for witnesses: collision at the "Edlibach junction"

There was a car accident In Menzingen on Monday morning, when a violent collision occurred between two vehicles at an intersection. The involved persons were thereby injured, and the police are now looking for witnesses.

A 29-year-old man was driving on the Edlibachstrasse from Cholrain in the direction of Neuheim. At the same time, a 28-year-old was driving a van on the main road from Menzingen in the direction of "Nidfuren". For some reason, there was a violent collision between the two vehicles at the intersection, according to an announcement from the canton of Zug. The car remained stopped on the intersection after the collision – while the van came off the road, tipped over to its side and stopped by a tree.

The two drivers were traveling alone, and were slightly injured in the accident. They were therefore taken to the hospital for a check-up, but have since been able to leave. Both vehicles suffered a total loss. In addition, morning traffic was badly affected. The traffic had to be regulated by the Menzingen and Unterägeri Fire Brigades and was diverted from Aegeri via Allenwinden.

Call for witnesses
It is still unclear how exactly the accident took place, and the police are therefore now looking for more information about the course of the accident. Anyone who can provide such information is asked to call the Zug Police on 041 728 41 41.

A total of 28 members of the Menzingen and Unterägeri Fire Brigades, as well as employees of the Zug Rescue Service, the road maintenance service, a private towing company and the Zug Police were on duty at the incident.
