Plans for new municipal building

The municipal council has started the planning of a new community centre (Gemeindehaus) and an apartment building. The project from Röck Baggenstos Architekten AG from Baar will be pursued, and the local population can view the projects in January.

The voters of the municipality of Hünenberg approved the Maihölzli development plan, as well as the partial revision of the zoning plan and the building code, with a large majority at the ballot box on 24 September 2017. Based on this, the development of the centre is currently being realised, and should be ready for occupation by the autumn of 2022. The development plan, as well as the partial revision of the zoning plan and the building code, also covers the municipal property north of the Maihölzliweg (behind the ‘Dorf’ bus stop). Administrative rooms and apartments are planned on this plot, which will only be built in a second development phase.

In the meantime, the municipality has started planning a new community centre and an apartment building, according to a statement from the municipal council. Six general planning teams were invited to take part in a two-stage general planning submission with a selective procedure as the second stage of the procedure. From this selection, the jury that was appointed by the municipal council has selected the project from the Röck Baggenstos Architekten AG architectural office in Baar as the winning project. The municipal council (Gemeinderat) has therefore awarded the contract for the construction of the new community centre and an apartment building on the Maihölzliwiese.

The six submitted competition projects can be viewed in the Foyer Zentrum, "Heinrich von Hünenberg” hall on 7th, 11th and 13th of January, from 6 to 8 p.m. The presentation is open to the public and can be visited individually. Representatives of the municipality and the jury will be present. A protection concept in accordance with the current Covid regulations shall apply.
