Over the limit driver ends up in a tree on Monday night

A single-vehicle accident occurred in the municipality of Hünenberg at around 11 pm on Monday evening.

A 44-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle on the Maschwandenstrasse on the outskirts of Hünenberg while negotiating a curve on Monday night, and crashed head-on into a tree, as was reported by the Zug Police on Tuesday.

He thereby sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for examination by the Zug Ambulance Service. The vehicle was a complete write-off, and had to be towed away by a private towing company.

The man was alone in the car at the time of the accident. A breathalyser test administered to the 44-year-old revealed a blood alcohol level of 1.48 per mil. His driver's license was therefore confiscated on site for the attention of the administrative authorities (Strassenverkehrsamt), as the police report added. He will now have to answer to the local prosecutor’s office (Staatsanwaltschaft).
